“It was my pleasure to attend the patriotic 1940s Blitz Variety Show at the Doncaster Conservative
Club. After the air raid warning & Churchill speech singers Caroline Fields & Sean Glenn opened with
Land of Hope & Glory plus splendid singing of many war time favourites. The funny man Peter Wallis was
spot on with his gags. This superb cast were enjoyed by all the audience.”

adults) for the visit of Stage Door Productions' touring vertsion of Jack and the
Beanstalk. Under Peter Wright's direction, the Sheffield based company is visiting some
30 venues in Yorkshire.
Playing both Squire and Giant is Sean Glenn. A great actor, he also wrote the script and
produced the show. This is a colourful, cheery show aimed at children - as pantomime
should be.”

ON TOUR WITH ALADDIN
“When he hit upon the idea, a few years ago, of devising a panto that could tour clubs,
community centres and so on, Sean Glenn perhaps didn't quite realise just what a winner
he'd got, and the project has grown year by year, with this season's bookings reaching the
50 mark. The production has to be capable of adapting straightaway to any size or shape of
stage, with or without curtains to mask the scene changes.”
“Sean Glenn himself makes a truly wicked and believable Abanazar, and there's a stirring
sword fight. Gary Birtles bounces around as a joyful Aladdin, expertly involving the kids,
and I did like the Teletubbies bit with the youngsters.
More high spirits come from Chaz Martin, a gleeful, down to earth Widow Twankey, and there
are a couple of stylish dance sequences from Claire Anyon, the Genie of the Lamp.
Saskia Wells, who possesses a lovely voice made a fetching and most convincing Princess.
Was it a success? It certainly was.”
