COMEDY CAPERS - LEEDS
“To my mind Leeds Civic Theatre lacks the necessary atmosphere to stage variety shows
successfully, but this hurdle was overcome by Stage Door Productions with their Comedy
Capers, directed by Sean Glenn. Enthusiasm abounded.”

COUNTRY MUSIC
“It's good to see a Sheffield Production Company scooping Britain's top country artistes
for a series of shows at the coast. I refer to Stage Door Productions.”
Sheffield Star
ROBINSON CRUSOE - DONCASTER CIVIC
“Every tried and tested stock tradition from the world of panto was incorporated in this
show and yet it was presented with a refreshing vitality. The combination of slapstick
humour, lavish costumes, grand sets and dazzling special effects provided a suitable
showcase for a keen and convincing cast. Sean Glenn, script writer and director, showed
considerable stage presence as Dick Deadeye - the villain everyone loved to hate.”
Doncaster Star
“After last year's unfortunate Babes in the Wood, the Civic has called this year on
Sheffield-based Stage Door Productions. And the contrast could hardly be greater.
Thanks to director/writer Sean Glenn, this is a bright and breezy affair that moves
along at a cracking pace.”

MURDER MYSTERY NIGHTS
“Everyone had an excellent night thanks to you and your team. Hopefully we shall see you
again sometime in the future.”
Crewe Golf Club October 2008
“Many thanks for a brilliant Murder Mystery Night last Friday.”
Charnwood Hotel
“Your murder mystery was a great success.
I will in future only come to your company.”
The Manor, Guildford
ROBINSON CRUSOE - BRIDLINGTON LEISURE WORLD
“Robinson Crusoe has turned out to be a great idea. Hordes of children raise the roof on
Mondays and Tuesdays with "Oh no there isn't", with an abundance of hisses and boos for
Sean Glenn, who makes an admirable pirate Dick Deadeye in addition to having written and
produced the panto. Verdict - Good wholesome family entertainment.”
The Stage
SUMMER SHOWTIME - FILEY
“The show is thoroughly deserving of the enthusiastic audiences who queue weekly to see it,
for two happy hours four polished entertainers offer a pot-pourri of melody, comedy and
songs of today and yesteryear.”

MOTHER GOOSE, LEEDS
“Stage Door Productions has toured pantomimes to northern clubs for many years,
earning a fine reputation on the way. This production at Rothwell Working Men's Club
is the company's best pantomime to date. Quite simply, it is a pleasure
to watch. Wherever these players go they will surely be welcome.”
Kevin Berry, The Stage, January 16th 2003
1940s Blitz Variety Show
“It was my pleasure to attend the patriotic 1940s Blitz Variety Show at the Doncaster Conservative
Club. After the air raid warning & Churchill speech singers Caroline Fields & Sean Glenn opened with
Land of Hope & Glory plus splendid singing of many war time favourites. The funny man Peter Wallis was
spot on with his gags. This superb cast were enjoyed by all the audience.”

MAGIC OF THE MUSIC HALL
“I feel sure that the Music Hall in its heyday could not have been more enjoyable or as
well produced as this.”
Scarborough Mercury
“It's time, once again, to take a backwards look at the events, artistes and things seen
during the past year, a pretty mixed bag, naturally enough, though there were one or two
highlights which did stick in the memory. Like Stage Door's "The Magic of the Music Hall"
at Ellesmere Port British Legion Club with Sean Glenn, Caroline Fields, Bobby King and
Peter Wallis, which finished with a 100% standing ovation.
That apart, for me it hasn't been such a good year.”
Oakwell's Spotlight

“Sheffield based Stage Door Productions' Magic of the Music Hall was a good example of a
production frequently staged up and down the country.
Just who was the star here? Was it tenor Sean Glenn, with his strong, soaring voice,
electrifying in its impact? A full house, in this sizable club, loved every moment of the
evening.”
Roger Holmes, The Stage
“Magic indeed. Stage Door Productions' show was absolutely first class.”
“Call Boy”, British Music Hall Society
JACK AND THE BEANSTALK
“The large Denison Hall club in Leeds was packed with excited youngsters (and plenty of
adults) for the visit of Stage Door Productions' touring vertsion of Jack and the
Beanstalk. Under Peter Wright's direction, the Sheffield based company is visiting some
30 venues in Yorkshire.
Playing both Squire and Giant is Sean Glenn. A great actor, he also wrote the script and
produced the show. This is a colourful, cheery show aimed at children - as pantomime
should be.”

ON TOUR WITH ALADDIN
“When he hit upon the idea, a few years ago, of devising a panto that could tour clubs,
community centres and so on, Sean Glenn perhaps didn't quite realise just what a winner
he'd got, and the project has grown year by year, with this season's bookings reaching the
50 mark. The production has to be capable of adapting straightaway to any size or shape of
stage, with or without curtains to mask the scene changes.”
“Sean Glenn himself makes a truly wicked and believable Abanazar, and there's a stirring
sword fight. Gary Birtles bounces around as a joyful Aladdin, expertly involving the kids,
and I did like the Teletubbies bit with the youngsters.
More high spirits come from Chaz Martin, a gleeful, down to earth Widow Twankey, and there
are a couple of stylish dance sequences from Claire Anyon, the Genie of the Lamp.
Saskia Wells, who possesses a lovely voice made a fetching and most convincing Princess.
Was it a success? It certainly was.”
Oakwell's Spotlight
“A great touring production, with superb sound and scenery.”
Geoff Mellor, The Stage, December 24th 1998
“Evil Abanazar wants to know which direction Aladdin & Yasmin have taken. Without a
seconds hesitation, every child in the packed concert room points him in the wrong direction.
Sean Glenn and his merry band are once again touring with a show rich in comic banter and rich in panto tradition
. The ghost scene has the entire audience in hysterics because it is played so very well. Children
will remember this pantomime for a long, long time. As will their parents.

RED RIDING HOOD, LEEDS
“Tight scripts, brisk playing and a mix of eager young talent and experienced
players have made the Sheffield-based Stage Door company pre-eminent.”
